Day 3 - Perspectives from the sidelines

It was another insightful day at Perspectives.

What's Trending in the Talent and Learning Industry
Morne Stewart, VP Global Product Strategy,  kicked off the morning with the HR Mojo. It is time to think and act on your people strategy. We need to be agile and effective. We can't afford for our onboarding programs to take 43 days to complete, we need to reach them remotely and have the program completed within 3 days.
Morne also shared a key equation for something we all seek: ENGAGEMENT
PURPOSE + MASTERY + AUTONOMY = EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
To do so it is important to create the channels to enable our employees to grow. Give them access to an environment that is individualized, purposeful, available, and relevant. If they can't find what they are looking for in 7 seconds they will move on.
@johnjambrose summarized it well in this tweet "The Self-Developing Organization is about knowing our users, enticing, improving & rewarding them!
In closing, Morne stated "Vision without execution is hallucination" - (he might have even done a magic trick or two :-) )

Panel Discussion with Scott Farley, Priti Shah, Kellye Whitney, Noelle Gill, William Tincup
Moderator: Christa Manning
Topic: Demanding or Developing Diversity - The Modern Employment Marketplace Dilemma

Key concepts that resonated from this discussion:
- If you are in the business of leadership, you are in the business of culture
- Need more focus on developing women leaders
- Forego the unconscious biases, build your personal brand and advocate for a supportive culture of diversity
- Diversity creates friction. You need friction, which will create discussion, disruption and failure  in order to create innovation and drive business results (increase market share)
